Side by side

Every product here reads the same public FMCSA files. The differences are in which signals they pull out, how they handle the gaps since the May 2026 Motus cutover, and what they cost.

Where BMC Radar is different

  • The carriers Motus leaves out. FMCSA's daily Motus open data carries about a third of active carriers. We add the rest from FMCSA's May 14, 2026 records, kept only where the daily census still shows the authority active, and label them as estimated.
  • Cancellations checked against the whole docket. Each cancellation is checked against every other liability filing on the carrier's docket, so reinstatements and same-day replacements don't show up as lapses.
  • X-dates with a measured hit rate. We checked the anniversary estimate on 54,200 filings and show each policy's age, so you can tell a strong X-date from a weak one. Here's the backtest.

Where the others are ahead

  • XDate Alert has a built-in pipeline (contacted, quoted, won) and 10 seats for $79 a month.
  • New Trucking Companies has webhooks and Google Sheets, a JSON API on its $249 Team plan, and a 7-day trial.
  • TruckerDB gives a free sample account and pushes to a CRM on its Pro plan.

Questions

What is the best TruckerDB alternative?

It depends on the lead you work. BMC Radar is built around cancellations with no replacement yet, measured X-dates and the carriers FMCSA's Motus open data leaves out, for every state from $39 a month. XDate Alert adds a pipeline and 10 seats for $79. New Trucking Companies has an API and webhooks on its $249 Team plan.

Are X-dates from these tools exact?

No. FMCSA doesn't publish policy end dates, so every tool estimates the X-date, usually from the anniversary of the current liability filing. On 54,200 filings we measured, 58 to 65% of policies past their first year ended within a week of the anniversary.

Why does Motus coverage matter?

Since FMCSA moved licensing and insurance to Motus in May 2026, its daily open data carries only about a third of active carriers. A tool that reads only those files misses most renewals. On the November 4, 2026 run, about three in four of BMC Radar's renewal leads came from FMCSA's May 14 records.
